Dr. Jack Loveridge - District 3
Jack Loveridge grew up in El Paso and is the product of an EPISD education. His parents are former educators at local schools, including Austin H.S., Magoffin M.S., and St. Pius X. His mother grew up in Segundo Barrio, the daughter of Mexican immigrants, while his father's family relocated from Ohio to support White Sands Missile Range. Graduating from Burges H.S. in 2003, Jack earned his B.A. in History with honors from Stanford in 2007 with full financial aid. He graduated from Oxford in 2009 with an M.Phil. in Development Studies.
After working as a K-12 education policy analyst in Oakland, California, Jack began a Ph.D. in History at UT Austin, balancing teaching and research. He was awarded a Fulbright to India and a fellowship at Yale. Upon receiving his doctorate in 2017, he taught at Cooper Union before a postdoc at Harvard. Returning to El Paso in 2021, Jack co-founded Panoculum, a digital history startup, with a high school friend.
He met his wife Christine, a Chicago native, at Stanford. Together, they proudly call the Borderland home.
