PSAT: A practice SAT
The PSAT provides practice for the SAT and qualifies students with high enough scores for National Merit competitions. The PSAT will be administered to all JUNIORS and SOPHOMORES in October at Franklin High School during the school day.
Your PSAT exam is being paid for by EPISD, so you do NOT need to register for the exam.
PSAT scores from the October test are released to students electronically via email. Students will receive an email in December 2017 with a link and access code. Watch a short video to understand how to read your score report.
In addition to providing practice for the SAT, scores on the PSAT can qualify students for the National Merit scholarship competition. National Merit Semifinalists are announced in September. Approximately 1.5 million students in about 22,000 high schools take the PSAT. Of those students, about 16,000 are named National Merit Semifinalists and about 34,000 earn commended designation.
The links below are not an exclusive practice list, but are meant to be a help for Franklin students.
When Juniors take the PSAT, it is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This is the biggest scholarship contest in the country!
You can prepare by taking the Prep PSAT or Prep SAT and/or study at home using these websites.
