Safety & Health Education and Training Procedures

  • Purpose

Highly trained and educated employees are the result of a well-designed and executed safety and health program. One of the keys to a successful program includes regular safety training sessions held periodically every school year.

    Policy

It is the policy of the El Paso Independent School District that all employees at all levels of the organization receive safety and health training. The District will encourage and require involvement and participation of all managers, supervisors, and employees in the training.

    Management

    Reports

The Director of Risk Management or his/her designee will be responsible for reporting statistical analysis in a report form. The District Performance Summary report will be placed on the web site for all employees to view. The report will be updated weekly with the following information:

Internal Training for Professional and Support Staff Internal training is defined as training provided by district employees at the campus / department. Topics for internal training are general and do not require certification of the presenter. Modules for internal training are provided on this web site and can be downloaded and printed.

External Training for Professional and Support Staff External training is defined as training NOT provided by district employees at the campus / department. Topics for external training are specific and may require special certification of the presenter (for example, CPR certification, First Aid certification, Hazcom, Bloodborne Pathogens, Asbestos, etc.) Contact the Director of Risk Management to schedule a presenter.

Documentation of the training session (internal and external training) must be sent to the Director of Risk Management.
