Welcome you to the El Paso Independent School District. Here is some basic information for new students of EPISD who will participate in athletics.
EPISD belongs to the University Interscholastic League. The UIL is an organization that establishes rules and regulations for all public school athletic programs in the state of Texas. EPISD abides by all established rules and regulations. You may go to the links and click on UIL for further information.
We have eleven high schools and sixteen middle schools, all of which offer athletic programs. You can find the names and locations of all EPISD schools on our EPISD webpage.
High schools offer the following athletic activities: Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Tennis, Basketball, Wrestling, Golf, Swimming, Soccer, Track, Softball, and Baseball.
Middle Schools offer the following sports for 7th and 8th-grade students: Football, Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Track, Volleyball, Wrestling, Softball, and Baseball.
EPISD follows all UIL transfer rules and regulations.
Students may not transfer for athletic reasons.
Transfer students must complete a previous participation form.
Students must live in the attendance zone of the school they are attending in order to be eligible for varsity competition. The UIL may approve waivers for extenuating circumstances and other special situations.
All students participating in our athletic programs must have a current physical exam dated on or after the last Monday in May of the current school year. The physical must be completed on the UIL Physical Form.
