The Office of Communications provides internal and external communication services to El Paso ISD schools and departments. Special events, crisis communications, media, government and community relations are key functions of the Communications team.

The department publishes districtwide publications including the El Paso ISD This Week, an electronic newsletter, and maintains and updates news and information at episd.org. The department also produces District news segments and instructional videos through the EPISD TV Studio.

Communications manages the districtwide Partners in Education Program, Volunteers in Public Schools. El Paso ISD actively recruits organizations, businesses, community members, government agencies, the military, nonprofit agencies, and law enforcement agencies to work with campuses as Partners in Education and VIPS. PIEs and VIPS often serve as student mentors, science fair judges, career awareness presenters and scholarship providers.
