    Dear Rainbow Parents,

                                                      
    Welcome back to school!  It is exciting to begin the 2023- 2024 school year. I will begin my 8th year at Whitaker and feel blessed to serve our Rainbow Community. We are a wonderful school and you make us even better! The focus here is for every child to grow and learn to be all they can be. Our teachers set very high academic standards and are also thoroughly focused on nurturing your child through the ups and downs of the many learning experiences.

    I feel fortunate to have become part of a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration. It is my intent to continue to carry out these important traditions and practices. I would like to  invite you to help us determine what is best for your child by attending parent conferences, academic events, and volunteering to help on campus.

    As students begin to fall into the “school” routine, I want to encourage parents to become familiar with the classroom, teacher and the school staff.  Your child’s teacher is a wonderful source of information if you have questions about your child’s academic and/or social progress. Remember the education of your child is a two-way street. If you have family events and or issues that you feel might affect your child, please alert someone on campus. The more that you can share with the school, the better we can assist your child and your family. It is very important for parents to ever be involved with your child’s school.

    I hope that you will find your year at Whitaker to be positive and a productive one for your family.  Your school packet has a lot of information for you. Please return all the colored papers to your child’s teacher.

    I look forward to meeting our new Rainbows and returning Rainbows on August 3 for our Early Childhood Program - PK3 and August 4 for our PK4 to 5th grade, 2023.
