Welcome!
I am very proud to serve as the New Principal of Douglass Elementary School. I am committed to serve this amazing community with the respect and diligence they deserve. As a life-long resident of El Paso, I understand that the culture and history of the Southside community are the strength and vital energy that is the proud tradition of El Paso and its future!
At Douglass Elementary School we are committed in our goal to START A NEW ADVENTURE together, hand-in-hand, with our community and families. We are determined to meet and exceed the needs of our students and families. Together we will provide our children with the foundational background for them to become life-long learners and change the world. We know that in our hallways and classrooms are the leaders of tomorrow and we will do everything to ensure that they receive the best education in Texas!
I have been with the El Paso ISD since 2008. When I started, I was selected as a Math Teacher at Lincoln Middle School, where I guided my students to help them discover that Math is everywhere. I then continued my dedication to promoting Math as a Math Curriculum Writer and then, in 2015, as the Active Learning Leader / Instructional Math Coach at Guillen Middle School. Go GRIZZLIES! I was very fortunate to work with an amazing group of Math Teachers, Instructional Specialists, and Administrators all whom recognized that our students had the potential to become tomorrow’s scientists, physicists, and engineers!
In 2016, I began my journey in Administration and was selected as the Assistant Principal at Hart Elementary. As EPISD continued transitions with restructuring and bond consolidations, I filled Assistant Principal positions at Alta Vista Elementary School (Central), Mesita Elementary School (Westside), and Moye Elementary School (Northeast) providing leadership, training and development, and team-building for the faculty and staff. As an Administrative Team member, it was an honor to work at those campuses through their transitions and to provide all the faculty and staff the support they needed.
The years that I devoted to our EPISD campuses as an Assistant Principal provided me with the administrative background and foundation to be selected as the Principal of Clardy Elementary School in 2019. I was truly honored by the support shown to me by all the teachers and staff at Clardy. It was with a heavy heart that I left Clardy when it closed in June 2022, however, I was thrilled when I was notified that I was chosen as the Principal of Douglass Elementary – Home of the Dragons. I promise to continue my support and unwavering commitment to our community. I welcome all our parents, caregivers, and families to Douglass Elementary. Together, we will help our children change the World! There is no better place to be, than at EPISD!
