FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL END OF SEMESTER PROCEDURES
Exemption Form CLICK HERE
Any student who misses the review CANNOT be exempt. If the student was exempt and misses the review, they are to be given a zero for the final. If the student misses the review and shows up for the final exam, please allow the student to take the exam.
Exempt students would not need to return in the afternoon for the final exam (with parent permission). If it is a day where 2 exams are scheduled in the afternoon, if students are only exempt for one but not the other, they would need to attend the non-exempt class to take the final. Students remaining on campus may go to the Library to study.
Students currently in Alternative placement, as well as students previously in Alternative placement, CAN BE exempt, if they meet the exemption requirements as outlined below.
IMPORTANT: ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE ON DECEMBER 20. STUDENTS WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM PERIOD 7 & 8 FINAL EXAMS WHO DO NOT REPORT TO SCHOOL ON DECEMBER 20 WILL RECEIVE A ZERO ON THEIR FINAL EXAM.

Any student enrolled in a course on a campus permitting exemptions must meet the following criteria:

2. Have three or fewer excused and/or unexcused absences.
For purposes of this policy, absences related to religious holidays, school-related activities, and principal or principal designee approved visits to institutions of higher education [see FEA(LOCAL)] shall not be counted as absences.
A student who is not exempt from the final examination and does not take the semester comprehensive final examination shall receive a zero for the examination.
A student may voluntarily elect to take the semester comprehensive final examination, even if the student is not required to do so.
