Our School

  • Andress HS was built in 1961 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011. Andress was built to serve the Northeast area of El Paso, Texas and was named for attorney Ted Andress who served as President of the El Paso Board of Education and President of the Texas Association of School Boards. Originally, Andress consisted of grades five through nine with an opening enrollment of 1,200 students. Today, Andress enrolls about 1,800 students in grades 9-12 and is known for its dual credit programs, athletic and academic teams and its culturally diverse student population. Andress is, and will always be, the pride of the Northeast. Andress keeps its focus on pride and tradition through a strong Alumni Association. Andress has had the honor of educating the likes of Ray Mickens and Brian Young of the NFL, Sheriff Richard Wiles and several Alumni that have made a difference in El Paso. Andress currently leads EPISD traditional high schools in students graduating with college credit hours. With the exception of Transmountain Early College high school, Andress offers the most dual credit courses in the district. A list of what we offer at Andress can be found within the brochure. Andress has been fortunate enough to be one of the campuses picked for an addition of a Fine Arts building that is currently in the planning phase. This is a great opportunity for the Andress community to build on an already strong Fine Arts program.

    Mission Statement:
