    This is an exciting time for the learning communities of Hughey Elementary School and Ross Middle School. The upcoming 2023-24 school year will mark the official consolidation of both campuses into Coach Wally Hartley PK-8 School. As the first principal of the Hurricanes, I pledge to keep the best traditions of both schools while incorporating new things that will bring renewed enthusiasm for learning and growing.  

    The $43 million construction project at Hartley PK-8 School is near completion. The upgrades in aesthetics at the elementary will be ready to welcome students in grades PK-5 this fall. Our middle school students have been inspired and empowered all year as they enjoy their new modern spaces. We have included some photos to help you see what awaits your child. 

    Throughout this summer, full details regarding uniforms and transportation will be communicated. Please be on the lookout for other emails in the weeks to come. In the meantime, I encourage you to register your child now at www.episd.org/register. Please remember that you will now be registering your child under the school name Hartley PK-8 School. Registration is open now, so don’t delay.
