(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – June 11, 2024) — Coronado High School proudly celebrated its 538 graduates on Tuesday, June 11 at the Don Haskins Center.
The Class of 2024 earned over $35 million in scholarships, highlighting their academic excellence. In addition to their academic achievements, many graduates also obtained industry-based certifications, equipping them to enter the workforce immediately after high school.
Leading the class were top honor graduates Meilin Pholvichitr and Judson McGinnes. McGinnes is one of only three National Merit Scholarship finalists in El Paso for 2024 and will be attending Rice University in the fall. Pholvichitr will be heading to the University of Texas at Austin later this year.
Additionally, Katherine Kimberlin was named All-Girl. She will attend Texas Tech University. Other notable graduates include Madison Panahi who was this year’s Senior Class President. She will attend Georgia Tech in the fall. Gracyn Hunt was honored as the Senior Class Historian. She will attend the Southern Methodist University, and Pilar Mier served as the Student Body President. She will attend Trinity University.
