(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – June 12, 2024) — Chapin High School’s Class of 2024 concluded the third day of graduations for El Paso ISD with 378 seniors receiving their diplomas on Wednesday, June 12 at the Don Haskins Center.
The Class of 2024 earned an impressive $24,750,249 in scholarships, a testament to their academic excellence. Leading the class were valedictorian Archelaus Paxon, who plans to attend Texas A&M, and salutatorian Angela Rivas, who will study medical anthropology at a college in Rhode Island. Both Paxon and Rivas are distinguished Gates Scholars.
This accomplished class also boasts three QuestBridge Scholars: Camila Aguirre, Preston Lopez, and Angela Rivas. In addition, Americas Huertas has been appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.
The ceremony also recognized Hunter Standerfer, named All-Boy, and Camilia Aguirre, named All-Girl.
