Mesita Elementary School Launches Exciting Summer School Program
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – June 25, 2024) —Mesita Elementary School is hosting an engaging and diverse summer school program for students to continue learning during the summer break. Open to all students, Mesita’s Dual Language/GT summer program offers a rich curriculum designed to foster creativity, cultural awareness, and academic skills.
“This summer camp is a great and fun way to expose kids to familiar topics, but also allowing them to get more hands-on experience with each subject,” said Ana Chairez, 2nd grade Dual Language teacher.
During the camp, students participate in a variety of activities including:
- Art
- Music
- Languages
- Reading
- Technology
- Arts and Crafts
The aim of the program is to provide a well-rounded educational experience, ensuring that students remain intellectually stimulated and culturally enriched during the summer months. This initiative reflects El Paso ISD’s commitment to offering diverse and accessible learning opportunities for all students.
“This camp helps keep student’s minds active during the summer break,” said Sonny Bernal, Physical Education teacher. “We have a P.E. camp and instead of these kids being at home, they’re out here getting a good workout and staying active.”
The program started on June 17 and runs through June 28. It operates daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
