El Paso ISD Hiring Fair Tips for Success
(El Paso Independent School District -- June 21, 2022) — Stand out in a sea of black-suited applicants at the El Paso ISD Hiring Fair on Wednesday, June 22, with these tips.
The district is hiring teachers, paraprofessionals and substitutes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at the EPCC Administrative Offices (9050 Viscount, Building A).
Campus administrators will conduct on-the-spot interviews and hire applicants at the fair.
Here are a few tips to make the most of your time at the EPISD Hiring Fair:
1. Dress to Impress
Dress professionally and be interview-ready for school principals and assistant principals at the fair. Most importantly, be comfortable.
2. Apply Online
We encourage applicants to take the time to review open positions, check what campuses are the best fit and apply online. Submit your application ahead of the hiring fair and be one step ahead of everyone else. It may help you secure an interview since your certification information and qualifications are already included in the application. Apply online here episd.org/jobs.
3. Be Prepared
Bring at least 10 copies of your resume in a folder and leave your hands free for handshaking! It also doesn't hurt to have a pen and paper for notes.
4. Confidence is Key
A hiring fair may be overwhelming, so take a big breath, roll your shoulders back and have an elevator pitch ready when you introduce yourself to campus administrators. "Hi, my name is Ana Sanchez and I'm applying for the position of dual-language second-grade teacher at your campus. I'm a UTEP graduate and I hold three different certifications. Can you tell me more about what you're looking for in this position?"
5. Follow Up
Don't forget to grab the business cards or write down the emails of the administrators you spoke with to follow up after the hiring fair. Make a note of who you spoke with and at what campus. After the fair, send a short thank you email or a thank you note.
