10 Hornedo Middle technology students headed to national competition in June
(HORNEDO MIDDLE SCHOOL – May 16, 2022) – Ten technology students flexed their creative muscles at the Texas Technology Student Association (TSA) competition in Fort Worth earlier this month qualifying for national competition this June while racking up two first place awards including a team best in state for website design.
"The nerd was strong in Fort Worth," said teacher and TSA sponsor Mike Quarles. "There was a delightful, combined energy from the thousands of smart, creative Texas TSA students, all as happy as we were to match wits in person again."
The Hornedo VEX Robotics battled with school teams from across the state and held their own at the competition. Individually, students participated in Digital Photography, CO2Dragster and Children's Stories categories. The middle school students also competed as a team in Mechanical Engineering and Video Game Design.
To prepare for the state competition Hornedo students committed to their projects at the start of the school year and improved on them before and after school. The 10 national qualifiers are now busy upgrading their projects to impress the judges in June.
Best of luck Hornedo Tornadoes at nationals.
