Thanksgiving Message from Interim Superintendent Vince Sheffield
Team EPISD,
We have arrived upon the time for a well-deserved break. We definitely earned it! The holiday season is upon us, and no doubt, this is one for the record books. Thank you for remaining focused as we traverse through this most difficult and unprecedented time.
Our Thanksgiving holiday may look different this year, but the true spirit of the holiday is more relevant than ever before. In this time of Thanksgiving, I express my sincere gratitude to you. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to serving our students and community. Because of you, our students remain our top priority and continue receiving the necessities of a well-rounded education, food to stay healthy, clean environments, health checks, social-emotional and parental support, just to name a few. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. You are truly appreciated!
To those of you reading this letter but have chosen to not return to our district after the break, thank you for your time spent serving our students and district. Most of all, thank you for being an important part of this amazing team!
As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to be grateful! Now, thank yourselves by using this break to rest, relax, unwind, eat turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce (oops, I got distracted).
Let’s stay vigilant regarding safety. As Thomas Jefferson said, “Eternal vigilance is always the price of liberty.” Let’s take care of one another and come back stronger. I look forward to everyone’s safe return!
Have a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!
Vincent A. Sheffield
