Professional development sessions help El Paso ISD employees enhance customer experience
(PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER – May 25, 2023) – El Paso ISD launched a series of professional development sessions with K-12 Insight this week to provide campus staff with more tools to positively engage with students and families.
Teams of employees from all campuses participated in interactive training at the PDC in alignment with the district’s Hopes and Dreams Realized 2022-2025 strategic blueprint’s focus on becoming a Destination District. The sessions are aimed at growing and retaining top talent equipped and empowered to meet the needs of students and families. Session topics included gaining understanding and demonstrating empathy; refocusing on solutions; next steps and follow-up; and collaboration.
“The professional development sessions give our employees an opportunity to collaborate with other campuses on ways to improve our customer experience and provide a more welcoming environment in our school communities,” Superintendent Diana Sayavedra said. “Providing our stakeholders with an optimum experience will give El Paso ISD an edge in becoming a Destination District.”
Amanda Bubela, the K-12 Insight trainer, explained that the professional development is a more targeted training regimen that hadn’t previously been offered in El Paso ISD.
“Many times, employees are dealing with parents who are advocating for children and that can be challenging, so we are providing them with strategies and tips so they can feel more empowered in their customer service interactions,” Bubela said.
