TMECHS Senior, Brett Doyon selected for the 2020-2021 GECU Student Board of Directors
Congratulations to TMECHS Senior, Brett Doyon, who was selected to be on the GECU Student Board of Directors! The following information was provided by GECU.
The Student Board of Directors (SBOD) Program is an innovative educational program sponsored by GECU. It is a model from the SBOD Program at the Federal Reserve. It is collaboration between GECU and numerous school districts in El Paso County. We sent applications to all area high schools in June and they selected up to two students per school to apply for our program. Some of the requirements are that they be in the top 25% of their class, attend monthly meetings at GECU and have transportation to do so. Our team reviewed the applications and selected 32 seniors for our program.
The Student Board of Directors is a unique opportunity to give interested high school students exposure to GECU while also providing information about the importance of financial literacy, economics, and business.
