Franklin senior earns prestigious National Honor Society Scholarship

(FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL – May 11, 2023) – Franklin High School’s Keira Adams traveled to Washington, D.C., last month to receive the prestigious National Honor Society Scholarship.

Adams, who is among 25 scholarship winners nationwide, received the $5,625 scholarship April 22 at the Trailblazing Leadership Weekend in the nation’s capitol. She will be attending Harvard University this fall to study neuroscience and Black studies.

“I was absolutely ecstatic and didn’t believe it,” Adams said. “NASSP said there was over 13,000 applicants, so being in the top 25 was unbelievable. It was an amazing opportunity to engage with so many high-performing students.”

Adams credits Franklin’s National Honor Society board in receiving this national recognition.

“With over 1,000 service hours and the best NHS chapter in El Paso, it feels amazing to know that the time and effort is paying off.”
