    Read Our School's Military Family Resolution

    My name is Carolina Alarcón, I joined the EPISD family in January of 2012 as the Military Family Liaison at Edgar Park Elementary and in August of 2016 I transitioned to Special Education. I missed working with military students and decided to return as a Military Family Liaison September 2023 at Tom Lea Elementary. I am the wife of a retired Army service member, the mother of a senior in high school, and one grown and flown. I was born and raised in El Paso and love our melting pot community. 

    My goal as a Military Liaison is to help our students and their family transition into our school and the community. I am an advocate for military-connected students and their family.  I strongly encourage new families to become involved in our campus and the community. I am a liaison between our campus and our military partners in education (PIE). I am excited to meet, connect and service all of our military connected students and their family. 

    You will see me on campus facilitating a variety of things and here's a quick list:

    • Welcome and give tour to new students and their family.
    • Military Partners in Education (PIE) Point of Contact
    • Student Ambassadors Program (meetings).
    • Assist with collection of Federal Impact Aid survey.
    • Help with phones, counter, and customer service.
    • Pick-up “car tag” & cafeteria daily duties to interact with our students.
