Nestled in the foothills of the Franklin Mountains, Park Elementary remains a diamond in the rough serving a portion of Northeast El Paso.
Founded in 1961, Park Elementary was named after a local city politician Edgar Park (1887-1955). Mr. Park was considered a thinker who was ahead of his time.
The tri-leveled campus, which sits on more than 56,000 square feet, has three main classroom buildings, library, two science and computer labs and a Multi Purpose Gymnasium. The main building contains offices and a cafeteria. Basketball courts are available on two levels while a grass field, canopies and jungle gyms occupy the lower level.
In addition to a rigorous educational curriculum, Park Elementary also offers breakfast in the classroom, free lunch to all students, a morning and afternoon pre-kindergarten class, a pull-out 4th and 5th grade Gifted and Talented program, a full time art teacher and a 5th grade orchestra. The school also established the first ever Student Council as well as anti-bullying programs and the Prestigious Panther Award. We also offer a top-notch chess club, garden club and dance team which are open to all students.
Park Elementary students feed into Canyon Hills Middle School and John L. Chapin High School. Student attendance at Park Elementary is consistently above 96.5 % and remains one of the top attended schools in the district. Approximately 500 students attend Park from Pre-K to 5th grade. In addition our school offers Dual Language from Pre Kinder and to fifth grade.
