Mr. Zavala graduated from Amarillo High School, got his Bachelor's degree at West Texas A&M University; and his Master's Degree at the University of Texas at El Paso.

He plans to teach for several more years and then retire with his wife to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  Mr. Zavala enjoys traveling, reading, movies, taking the dogs for walks at the park, and learning new things. 

Mr. Zavala is slowly growing a beard, and sometimes wears glasses now, and is getting old, so recently people don't always recognize him, because he looks very different than he used to.
