Transmountain Early College kicks off Day 1 of EPISD's 2021 Graduation Season
(TRANSMOUNTAIN EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL -- June 15, 2021) — The El Paso Independent School District kicked off the 2021 Graduation Season this morning at El Paso High’s historic R.R. Jones Stadium with nearly 100 graduates.
Members of the Class of 2021, which earned $4.6 million in scholarships, also received associates degrees while completing their high school education.
Despite the pandemic, 100 percent of the class successfully completed their graduation requirements. The class is led by valedictorian Jasmine Jennifer Lupo, All-TMECHS Girl and salutatorian Alyssa Nadine Medina and All-TMECHS Boy is Brett Doyon.
Lupo offered a message of hope despite the difficulties faced by the pandemic.
“We are finally prepared to pick up our feet from our current step in the staircase of our lies and move upwards,” she said. “I want to remind everyone that our future is bright. One day, we will be able to make lasting changes our world.”
Medina also offered as similar message to her classmates.
“Every one of us has the ability to shape and mold our future, to turn our dreams into reality and I hope that every one of us can achieve our ideal future,” she said. I know that everyone of us is destined for greatness but always know that greatness should not be defined by those around you, and instead should be measured by your standards.”
