The EPISD Police Communications Section consist of 6 full-time dispatchers that are certified as (NCIC) National Crime Information Center and (TCIC) Texas Crime Information Center operators. The Police Communications Section utilizes (CAD) Computer Automated Dispatch system which allows dispatchers to track units in the field and calls for service. EPISD Police vehicles are equipped with ( MDT) Mobile Data Terminals which allow officers to write reports, send e-mail, view school floor plans and access the County wide (RMS) Records Management System all from their vehicles. This equipment was acquired through grants from the U.S. Department of Justice. EPISD Police can check wanted persons, suspicious vehicles, sex offenders and research stolen District property. All this can be done while the officer is in the filed or at their campus. This is in an effort to protect our students and staff from the criminal element. Additionally, each officer is issued an 800 megahertz hand held radio that is capable of communicating with other first responders in the city and county.
