Analysis

  • Purpose

    It is the policy of the El Paso Independent School District that a review will be conducted on a quarterly basis and will focus on hazard and injury analysis and recognition of developing trends. In addition, a quarterly claims review will be held with the Third Party Administrator/Insurance Carrier to analyze workers' compensation claims.

    Policy

    It is the policy of the El Paso Independent School District that a review will be conducted on a quarterly basis and will focus on hazard and injury analysis and recognition of developing trends. In addition, a quarterly claims review will be held with the Third Party Administrator/Insurance Carrier to analyze workers' compensation claims.

    Management

    The Director of Risk Management or his/her designee will be responsible for conducting the quarterly analysis. The Director of Risk Management will review and analyze all records and documentation pertaining to the safety and health program. Unit/Campus Heads will provide information and recommendations for corrective measures for trends developing in their areas. Employees will be made aware of developing trends and hazard exposures as they are recognized. Employees will be contacted to provide their input on the methods they think would be successful in reversing any identified negative trends.

    Reports

    The Director of Risk Management or his / her designee will be responsible for reporting statistical analysis in a report form. The District Performance Summary report will be placed on the web site for all employees to view. The report will be updated weekly with the following information:

    • Ranking
    • Location
    • Number of report only injuries
    • Number of medical only injuries
    • Number of lost time injuries
    • Number of days without a lost time injuries

    The District Performance Summary report will be sorted by the number of days without a lost time injury. For example, if a campus / unit goes the entire year without a lost time injury they will have accumulated 365 days. On the other hand, if a campus / unit has a lost time injury their days without a lost time injury will be reset to zero and they will start over. In the future, other reporting methods will be developed in accordance with District needs.
