What does it mean to be gifted?
A "gifted and talented student” means a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:
- Exhibits high-performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;
- Possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
- Excels in a specific academic field.

Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP)
The Texas Performance Standards Project comprises a set of performance standards, curricula, and assessments for differentiating instruction and deepening academic learning. TPSP enhances gifted/talented programs from kindergarten through high school.

EPISD GT Parent Committee
This is a voluntary parent group. The purpose of this group is to ensure GT information is accurately and effectively communicated to community stakeholders and parents.
