Time to start thinking of your 2020/2021 Benefits
Open enrollment is the once a year opportunity when employees may elect or change the benefit options available through EPISD; such as health plans, health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts, dental, vision, iLock, disability, and life insurance. Some benefits options are fully paid by EPISD and some are employee-paid through salary deduction. EPISD offers the ability to participate in a tax advantage benefit for some benefit plans.
OPEN ENROLLMENT THIS YEAR WILL TAKE PLACE FROM JUNE 29, 2020 - JULY 31, 2020 FOR COVERAGE EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2020.
On May 19th, the Board of Trustees approved the FY 2020/2021 Budget that contained a contribution of up to $435 per month towards the cost of EPISD’s Health Plans (includes Cigna and TRS-AC).
Additionally, included in the Budget is a $500 contribution towards a Cigna HSA for employees electing the Cigna CDHP (High Deductible) Option
The online enrollment module is Benefitsolver. Benefitsolver is available through any internet connection and you do not need to log into EPISD to access the enrollment site: http://www.Benefitsolver.com
The Benefitsolver website is not compatible with Google Chrome so Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox should be used.
In order to log in, you will need the user id and password you created for Benefitsolver. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. The Company Key is elpaso.
Feel free to log in now and review your current benefits. You can view your benefit summary once you have logged in, by clicking on the drop down arrow next to your name at the top of the screen.
Benefitsolver has a Reference Center that contains all the summary plan documents for all the benefits offered by EPISD and provider lists as applicable for the Dental and Vision Plans.
Open Enrollment may seem to be a long time away, but it will come very quickly and this is a great time to prepare by reviewing the Benefit Plans you are currently enrolled in and to consider major health and relationship changes before making your selections.
Have you heard about CIGNA? Effective September 1, 2019, EPISD created a Self-Funded Health Plan administered by Cigna and offered as an alternative to TRS-Active Care. This plan offers an improvement in benefits and family affordability, as well as exceptional customer service 24/365. Look for more to come about the great benefits, premium savings (use the Cost Comparison), and EPISD’s contribution to a Health Savings Account if you select the Cigna High Deductible Health Plan Option.
One final note, almost every employee now carries a smartphone, which allows Employee Benefits to make social media posts and text messaging part of our open enrollment toolkit. Do this now! Go to myepisd and update your Communication Preferences by scrolling down to Employee Services and clicking on Employee/Change Contact Info:
Update your Cell Phone and Alternative email. It’s quick and easy and will allow you to get a TEXT message about updates real time. While you are there, verify your address and update as needed.
