For 2013 and beyond, Texas adapted a new accountability framework of four performance indexes. This framework includes a broad set of measures that provide a comprehensive evaluation of the campus or district. The new accountability framework is reported in a new report called the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) and replaced the previous performance reports know as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports. AEIS reports were published from 1990-91 to 2011-12. No state accountability ratings were assigned in 2012.
Texas Academic Performance Reports
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.
Information explaining district's accreditation status, definitions and explanations of each accreditation can be found on the Texas Education Agency website (click on link to be re-directed to web page). Each year a new Glossary will be produced for the TAPR, specific to that year. In researching the reports, it is important to refer to the glossary for the year in question. School Report Card (SRC)
The Texas Education Agency publishes a School Report Card (SRC) for every campus in the district. The report provides a small subset of the information available in the TAPR reports. Schools are required to provide a copy of their SRC to the parent/guardian of each student.

The Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS)
The PBMAS is a district-level, data-driven monitoring system developed and implemented annually by Performance-Based Monitoring (PBM) staff in coordination with other Texas Education Agency (TEA) divisions and departments. The TEA uses PBMAS as one part of its annual evaluation of school districts’ performance and program effectiveness.

Beginning with 2013, TEA replaced the Gold Performance Acknowledgements used to recognize districts and campuses for high performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings. The Distinction designations recognize outstanding academic achievement in reading/English language arts and mathematics. Campuses that receive a rating of Met Standard are eligible for three distinction designations: Top 25% Student Progress, Academic Achievement in Reading/English language arts (ELA), and Academic Achievement in Mathematics.

Federal Report Cards
The U.S. Department of Education requires each state to publish an annual report card with specific district- and campus-level data. The report card consists of six sections – Part I: Student Achievement by Proficiency Level, Part II: Student Achievement and State Academic Annual Measureable Objectives (AMOs), Part III: Priority and Focus Schools, Part IV: Teacher Quality Data, Part V: Graduates Enrolled in Texas Institution of High Education (IHE), and Part VI: Statewide National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Results.
